Here is my female character in Mount & Blade Warband with her dappled grey steed. It's such a great game, unique in its genre.
Playing as a woman is really hard at the beginning since no one is willing to admit your achievements, rulers don't accept you as vassal and most of men are not willing to marry a warrior.
Despite all that, women have the same chance of men to be merchants, mercenaries or even queens. It all depends by yourself and your skill.
Keziah is born as an archer, pathfinder and strategist, but her comrades in-arms teached her to wield short swords and light shields. She's minute but strong enough to wear a byrnie under her leather garments and still move quite fast. Her only symbol of leadership is the adorned nordic helm she kept as memory of her blood origin.
Under her guide are gathered women and men from every culture, they're free to keep their traditions and culture as long they respect and honor the others. Every woman is free to do anything with her own life and is allowed to receive fiefs or strongholds as long her skill in command is proved on the field.
Keziah and her followers are not acknowledged as a true Kingdom by the other rulers in Calradia, still they're not been able to crush her army and recapture the lands now occupied.
Her closer companions are Matheld, Bunduk, Deshavi, Klethi and Ymira.
I actually play with these great mods:
